Chairperson/Acting President: U.N. Pradeep

The Chapter Chairperson should be responsive to the needs of both the chapter and IWA International. Specifically, the chapter president:

  • Has time to commit to the development of the chapter, making the chapter a priority during his or her term of office.
  • Has strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Provides the leadership in planning, coordinating, and administrating communications and activities.
  • Plans and presides at executive committee meetings and activities.
  • Delegates responsibilities and follows up.
  • Serves as the local spokesperson for the chapter.
  • Serves as the primary contact for all representatives of the IWA, as well as for all members in the area.
  • Maintains close contact with committee chairs.
  • Oversees all sponsorship solicitation
  • Appoints chairpersons for all committees.
  • Completes or oversees completion of IWA Quarterly Report.

Vice Chairperson/Acting VP: Deepak.S.Iyer

The Vice Chairperson's responsibilities include overseeing chapter activity in one or more committees, assisting with the planning and conducting of chapter activities, and conducting chapter activities in the absence of the Chairperson.  The Vice Chairperson should be planning for the next year, and is generally elected Chairperson at next term elections.


Secretary: Open Position

  • Keeps records of the leadership team meetings and chapter functions.  Specific duties include:
  • Maintaining current records of general chapter membership status.
  • Recording and distributing the minutes to all executive committeemembers and the chapter membership.
  • Arranging for meeting rooms.
  • Assisting the Chairperson in the preparation of the chapter newsletter.

Treasurer:  Open Position

This person shall be charged with obtaining and overseeing sponsorship of the chapter in partnership with the PR committee. Chapter sponsorship is limited to anything that may be used by the chapter as a whole. This may include web hosting, meeting facilities, classroom facilities, presentation and teaching/office supplies or even local advertising for growth support.

A chapter cannot accept cash, products, donations, or dues from any company or individual. It is of particular importance that the treasurer verifies that all sponsors fulfill their commitments to the chapter as well as all financial commitments that they make on behalf of the chapter.Thus, when a sponsor offers to pay for a meeting hall, the treasurer should verify that the sponsor has done so. The treasurer should also serve on the PR committee.


Web Site Developer/Webmaster: May Long

Works with chapter's board and membership to design, develop, and maintain a Web site that represents the chapter's objectives.


Membership Chair: Priscilla Chan

Responsible for developing and implementation of chapter's membership plan that promotes the objectives of the chapter which is likely to include the following: building membership, promote the services of professional members to businesses and employers, and building goodwill within the community.


News and Events Chair: Open Position

Maintains the flow of news/information to and from chapter membership. Provides design and maintenance of News section of chapter site. Serves as chapter's newsletter editor who coordinates and solicits incoming news from members, businesses, community, and WebProfession Ezine Team.


Professional Development Chair: Open Position

  • Promote certification and career advancement to chapter members.

  • Review and recommend Certified and Senior Member applicants.
  • Identify local educational resources including universities, trade schools, and training centers and provide information through the maintenance of the educational resource section of chapter's site.
  • Work with local Authorized Training Facilities to promote IWA's Certified Web Professional designation.
  • Oversees PD committee to review and recommend Certified and Senior member applicants. Identifies local educational resources including universities, trade schools, and training centers and provides this information through the maintenance of the educational resource section of chapter's site.

Public Relations Chairperson: Open Position

  • This committee shall be responsible for promoting public awareness of the IWA and the local chapter by maintaining timely and informative communication to local media and area IWA members. Specific duties include:
  • Preparing announcements to area IWA members for all events.
  • Securing media coverage for IWA International, the local chapter, and specific events.
  • Acting as a liaison for all local publications, providing the editor with details, calendar event listings, and article suggestions.
  • Working with Web Site Committee to solicit Web hosting for chapter site.  Please see link to Sample Letter to Solicit Hosting for Site, below.
  • Sending thank-you letter to sponsors such the chapter's host sponsor.
  • Sending introduction letters to public institutions and local businesses.
  • Sending press releases for all chapter events, including online and offline meetings and the initial formation of the chapter. · Working with the Web Site Committee to promote the chapter web site through such means as link exchanges, etc.
  • Offering seminars with local business associations and chambers of commerce.
  • Promoting the IWA through seminars at technical schools, universities and computer education centers, especially IWA Authorized Training Facilities.
  • Attending and promoting local conferences.
  • Building name recognition for IWA at the local level.
  • Using discussion forums and mailing lists to promote IWA ethical standards, membership services and certification.
